Merseyside giants Everton are eyeing another attacking talent after Burnley star Dwight McNeil was added to their list of winger targets.
Aston Villa were the first Premier League team to seriously show an interest in the Burnleywinger before Everton showed an interest in him. The Everton move for the young Englishman was confirmed by both The Times and the Liverpool Echo.
Burnley have a lot of work to do to fend off the interest of both Everton and Aston Villa in McNeil.
Everton manager Rafael Benitez was appointed into the role some weeks back and he’s keen to increase his options on both the left and right wing of his attack ahead of the new season.
The Toffees are already closing in on deals for wingers Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend. Gray will join Everton from German side Bayer Leverkusen in a £1.5m deal, while Townsend is expected to sign for the club as a free agent having been one of the 22 players released by Crystal Palace last month. With Gray and Townsend almost in the bag, Burnleystar McNeil is the next winger target under consideration at Everton.
Everton will have to spend a lot of money to sign a quality player like McNeil. The Toffees might need to spend more than £25m to secure his transfer from the Clarets.
